Hello everyone, welcome to Tanguy Nef’s website. If you want to know more about me, then I encourage you to continue reading.

I started skiing when I was 6 years old on the slopes of the Valais central in French-speaking Switzerland, following in the footsteps of my family members. 3rd of 4 siblings, and son of a Swiss ski teacher, I had a royal path to alpine skiing from my hometown Geneva. My sister Tamara and my older brother Lazslo had both started ski racing in clubs, and I was dying to have an orange jacket like them, so I started racing in alpine ski racing in the cadet/mini category at the age of 7 (2003 season).

Since then, the pleasures and successes have multiplied for me, becoming the first of the Nef family to win the final of the Migros Grand Prix (equivalent of the Swiss championships for youngsters) in Les Diablerets, Vaud, Switzerland. Then, I was able to join the national performance center in Brig, Valais in French-speaking Switzerland. It was around the age of 14 that I left my base in Geneva to ski/study until I graduated. After a serious tibia and fibula injury in 2014, I decided to take a drastic look at myself and once I had graduated, I decided to go to the American university circuit to pursue my studies and my passion for alpine ski racing. In 2018, I left Switzerland to study at the famous Dartmouth College, New Hampshire in the USA until I obtain my Bachelor’s degree in 2021.

The culture of sport/study and the exceptional environment of the students that I was in contact with strongly inspire me and will forever condition my career as a competitive and relaxed skier. In 2020 (at age 23), I won the coveted title of U.S. Individual NCAA Champion in Special Slalom and the Giant Slalom title in 2021. Surfing on these performances, Swiss Ski, which was following my progress from a distance, selected me in 2020 for my first World Cup start in Levi, Finland for the slalom: a small miracle, I finished 11th in my first race! It was a turning point in my life because since that day, I feel capable of winning one or more World Cup races.

All my energy is now directed to become one of the best slalom specialists in the world cup and I do it by staying as close as possible to the values acquired during my career.

My ultimate goals are to win several World Cup races in slalom and later in giant slalom, and to become a medalist at the Olympic Games and World Championships. The most important thing for me is to make you dream and vibrate during the races. I look forward to sharing and counting you among my supporters.
